Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) programs a large number of activities and initiatives. One of them is the classical music series that it programs every Saturday afternoon.
On this occasion we will have the artists:
- Raquel castro, violin
- Amparo Lacruz, cello

Raquel Castro has enjoyed a versatile career as a violinist and teacher. She studied with the renowned teacher Mauricio Fuks at Indiana University (Bloomington, USA), with maestro Detlef Hahn at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and in Spain, with Lev Chistiakov. She has performed as an artist and soloist at prestigious festivals in Spain, Italy, Croatia, Finland, Norway, Israel and China. She was first violin soloist of the Ensemble Nacional Español de Música Contemporánea with which she performed numerous premieres. She recently went on a concert tour performing, alongside Yuval Gotlibovich, Mozart’s Sinfonía Concertante with the Orquesta de Cámara Catalana, which culminated in a concert at the Auditorio de Barcelona to celebrate the Orchestra’s 30th Anniversary. She has also collaborated with Yuval on a Naxos recording of the viola works of Ramón Paús. Raquel is a violin teacher at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya and has been a professor at Indiana University (USA) and at the Universidad “Alfonso X El Sabio” in Madrid. She is regularly invited to be part of the jury of different national competitions. Amparo Lacruz has had an intense career in the chamber music field, after years of training in Spain, England, the United States and Austria. An important discography is testimony to her activity. She recently published the recording of the complete Bach Suites for solo cello in Columna Música. Her CDs “Winter in flames” (Chopin and Bridge Sonatas) and “Brahms & Röntgen”, in a duo with the pianist Andreu Riera, received excellent reviews. Amparo Lacruz has performed at the main Spanish festivals (Granada International Music and Dance Festival, Cuenca Festival of Religious Music, Alicante Festival of Contemporary Music, Torroella de Montgrí International Festival, Santander International Festival), as well as in the concert seasons of the Juan March Foundation, the Auditorium 400 of the Reina Sofía Museum and the National Auditorium of Madrid, the Palau de la Música Catalana and L'Auditori of Barcelona, ??and the Palau de la Música of Valencia. On the international stage, she has participated in the Beaux Arts Festival in Brussels (Belgium), the Amsterdam Cello Biënnale, the Peter de Grote Festival and the Emmy Verhey Festival (Netherlands), the Ravello Festival (Italy), the Crussell Music Festival (Finland), the Pau Casals Festival (Puerto Rico) and the Vivacelli Festival (South Korea). As a member of the Kandinsky Trio, she has toured extensively in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. Her monographic work on Guinjoan's work was awarded the CD COMPACT Magazine Prize for the best chamber music album of the year in 2009. The CDs “Schoenberg and Barcelona” and “Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms” (Columna Musica) have received excellent reviews. She is currently a professor at the Conservatorio Superior del Liceo in Barcelona. She has given master classes in the United States, Japan, China, South Korea, Latin America and the Netherlands.

- All tickets include access to the exhibitions, to the concert and a complimentary glass of cava.
- If there are no more tickets available on the website, they can be purchased at the museum box office depending on capacity availability. In this case, it is preferable to book in advance by calling 933195693 or by sending an email to taquillas@meam.es.
- The locations have a number assigned according to the order of reservations. It will not be possible to make any change of location once the seats are assigned.
- Access to the concert hall will take place from 5:50 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Once the concert has started, you will not be able to access the room.
- The exhibition can be visited both before and after the concert, taking into account that the museum closes at 20:00.
- The tour to the exhibitions lasts approximately 45 minutes.
- It will be enough to have the voucher or reservation on the mobile and not print it.
- The museum reserves the right to cancel the unpaid reservation 5 minutes before the start of the concert. For this reason, we recommend showing up at the box office 30 minutes in advance.
- In the case of tickets purchased in advance: After 6:00 p.m. it will not be possible to opt for a refund. If the user of the tickets has not communicated, before the concert, the delay or impossibility of attendance: these may be assigned to another user after 6:05 p.m.
