The MEAM presents the painting of Eloy Morales (Madrid, 1973), one of the most influential painters of Spanish realism of the moment, a multifaceted creator who testifies in all his works of his mettle, his technical skill and his concern for truth and the capture of the essentially human.
Eloy Morales makes his paintings vibrate like pieces of reality stolen from life. He moves comfortably in different registers of figuration. His works do not let the observer escape. They never impose a truth. They simply share it and offer it with honesty. His characters return our gaze. His landscapes welcome us.
We are always offered a frontal painting that avoids theatricality. Eloy Morales works a painting of flesh and matter. He does not hide behind technique and virtuosity.
