From March 2019, on the occasion of the celebration of the 'International Women's Day', the MEAM will present the exhibition Painting Today. An exhibition of international artists referents in contemporary figurative painting. The MEAM has commissioned curator Didi Menendez, from the community of artists PoetsArtists, to present more than 70 works that women painters have made and are doing in the field of contemporary figurative art at an international level.

Last year, the MEAM presented Women Artists Today, an interesting exhibition that brought together the most outstanding works of 26 Spanish painters and 12 sculptors of the current scene and who claimed the importance of women in contemporary Spanish art.

Around the exhibition, the MEAM will program various parallel activities such as concerts, workshops and conferences. The opening of the exhibition, on Friday, March 8 at 8:00 p.m., will feature two concerts open to the public: "I got rhythm", a journey in black and white through the piano keys and the colors of the human voice of America at the beginning of the century. The recital will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will be in charge of the soprano Romina Krieger, the pianist Olga Kobekina and the actress Maria Voronkova. Next at 6:00 pm, Agustí Burriel ETB Trio will offer a tribute to Elvis Presley that reviews the musical career of the King of Rock, from the 50s to the 70s, with a wide repertoire that includes his greatest hits, as well as songs of his films and his most famous concerts, without forgetting some of his darkest themes.
