An initiative of #elMuseoenCasa, a MEAM content program through our social networks to maintain the connection with the public during the time that the museum will be closed.
The MEAM has prepared an online exhibition in which we have compiled a set of paintings by international figurative artists and, which in most cases, we have been able to see at the MEAM, either in monographic exhibitions, or in painting and sculpture competitions, such as Figurativas, convened biannually by the Arts and Artists Foundation, or ModPortrait, convened annually by the Artelibre Gallery in Zaragoza.
These works describe everyday scenes, daily activities, inner lives, empty streets, interior spaces and windows through which desires and longings are observed, the corners we inhabit, live and dream, spaces of belonging and spaces of isolation. Works which the MEAM feel are particularly relevant to the peculiar reality we are all living through at the moment.
With these works, we intend that virtual visitors make their own account of each work and that they feel identified with the characters represented in each of them. We encourage you to send us your ideas, reflections or poems inspired by one of the works that you will see below. We will choose the ones that have reached us the most and we will share it on our social networks.
We will add new works every day so stay connected to this page or through our social networks on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter.
