Tribute to Astor Piazzolla, concert for violin and piano | Saturday Classics
Beyond its spectacular collection of contemporary figurative painting, the European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) programs a large number of activities and initiatives. One of them is the classical music series that it programs every Saturday afternoon.
On this occasion we will have the artists:
- Rafael Dengra, violin.
- Fedor Vselov, piano.

Rafael Dengra, born in Buenos Aires, began his studies with violinist Alejandro Elijovich. In Barcelona he studied with the prestigious violinist Ala Voronkova. He graduated from the Liceu Conservatory in 1997 and won competitions such as Mitsubishi and Arjau. He performs in several countries as a concertmaster and soloist. In 2004, the composer Esteban Benzecry dedicated a concert as a soloist to him, which he premiered on a tour of South America with the OCE. Winner of the position of concertmaster of the Huelva Symphony Orchestra by competition. He is currently concertmaster of the Camerata Mediterrània, directed by Maestro Guerassim Voronkov. Along with violinist Ala Voronkova, he is also a member of the Glinka Quartet and the Moz-Art Violin Duo.
Fedor Veselov, born in Saint Petersburg, was awarded several national and international piano competitions before he was 15 years old. He studies at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with the professor and Honorary Artist Elisso Virssaladze. In 2010 he obtained his Bachelor's Degree as a Higher University Degree. Specialties: solo pianist; accompanist pianist; piano and chamber music teacher. 1st prize 2015 of the A. G. Abril International Competition, in 2017 he gave a concert with the RTVE Orchestra at the Teatre Monumental in Madrid, which was broadcast live by the Spanish National Radio and La2. In September he recorded his first CD, with works by current Catalan composers.
The program offered today by these experienced musicians is dedicated entirely to Astor Piazzolla, with the intention of paying a commemorative tribute to this important Argentine composer recognized throughout the world. A selection of the composer's best-known songs, such as "Adéu noní", "Libertango" or "Estiu Porteny". With pieces that have been revised and arranged by the musicians themselves.

FAQ
- All tickets include access to the exhibitions, to the concert and a complimentary glass of cava.
- If there are no more tickets available on the website, they can be purchased at the museum box office depending on capacity availability. In this case, it is preferable to book in advance by calling 933195693 or by sending an email to taquillas@meam.es.
- The locations have a number assigned according to the order of reservations. It will not be possible to make any change of location once the seats are assigned.
- Access to the concert hall will take place from 5:50 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Once the concert has started, you will not be able to access the room.
- The exhibition can be visited both before and after the concert, taking into account that the museum closes at 20:00.
- The tour to the exhibitions lasts approximately 45 minutes.
- It will be enough to have the voucher or reservation on the mobile and not print it.
- The museum reserves the right to cancel the unpaid reservation 5 minutes before the start of the concert. For this reason, we recommend showing up at the box office 30 minutes in advance.
- In the case of tickets purchased in advance: After 6:00 p.m. it will not be possible to opt for a refund. If the user of the tickets has not communicated, before the concert, the delay or impossibility of attendance: these may be assigned to another user after 6:05 p.m.
