KECO PUJOL & SISTER MARION | Friday's Blues
Since he was very young, Keco Pujol's goal has been none other than to idolize the essence of black music through his voice and his piano. For this, and over the years, he has developed an unmistakable and forceful style, full of passion and feeling, based on the greatest masters of blues, rhythm 'n' blues, soul or gospel. Robert Johnson, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding or Etta James take on new life in the voice and keys of this true master of black music.
A classically trained pianist from Barcelona, Sister Marion (Miriam Aparicio) is seduced by Afro-American music with roots. Her first steps in the blues piano are made by the hand of the pianists Lluís Coloma and Julio Lobos. Years later she becomes a pianist, singer and director of her own Masoulfield gospel group through which renowned names from the music scene pass. She has been a pianist for the Tota Blues Band with whom she has participated in several national festivals and has also become the pianist for Big Mama Montse, with whom they perform an acoustic review of the repertoire of the great blues divas that have led to participate in various festivals and perform throughout the Spanish geography, in addition to being part as a pianist and singer of the female trio Womblues with Big Mama Montse and Sweet Marta and the band Indigo Blues, formed only by women.
